China Maintains USD 308 Million Calcium Chloride Export Lead in 2024 Trade Data
The Observatory of Economic Complexity (OEC) reported that global calcium chloride trade totalled USD 724 million in 2024, with China recording exports of USD 308 million and the largest trade surplus worldwide at USD 305 million. The Netherlands and United States ranked second and third among exporters. On the import side, Saudi Arabia, the United States and Canada were the top three buyers. HS code 282720 covers both anhydrous and dihydrate grades used across construction, agriculture and industrial drying. As of mid-2026, European and North American distributors were forwarding Q3–Q4 procurement enquiries to Chinese producers for dihydrate flakes and 1-ton jumbo bags ahead of the northern-hemisphere de-icing season. Shandong-based exporters reported stable berth availability at Qingdao Port for 20GP and 40GP container loads.
